IWR6843AOP: Tx Output Power

Hi mmWave team,

I have noticed a discrepancy in the Tx antenna output power specifications for IWR6843AOP. The IWR6843AOP datasheet lists the output power as 15dBm, while the mmWave SDK documentation states it as 13dBm (see "\mmwave_sdk_03_06_02_00-LTS\packages\ti\control\mmwavelink\include\rl_sensor.h" LINE 683). Could you please clarify the reason for this difference?

Hi,

Please refer to the datasheet for the most accurate information. However, understand that TX output power can vary by 0.5-1 dB across devices (as it does for many wireless technologies).

Hello Robin and Nate,

I think

15dBm of the output power on IWR6843AOP's datasheet is "EIRP(Equivalent Isotropically Radiated Power)", and

13dBm of 0dB back-off corresponds is "the output power in Chip-out of IWR6843AOP".

(EIRP = Chip output power + Antenna Gain)

Because Chip output power of the AWR1843AOP is about 12dBm, and Effective radiated power of the device is 16dBm, from the following my thread.
