IWR1843AOP: Range of Configurable Chirp Slope

Part Number: IWR1843AOP

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am currently working on a development project using the IWR1843AOP. I have a question regarding the chirp slope and am reaching out for clarification.

I am configuring the chirp settings using mmWave Studio, where I have learned that the slope can be set up to 300 MHz/µs.

Although the recommended setting in the IWR1843AOP datasheet is 100 MHz/µs, would there be any issues with chirp quality if I operate it at 200 or 300 MHz/µs?

I noticed in previous threads that the frequency error is stated to be below 0.01%. Would this also hold true when operating at 300 MHz/µs?

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

  • Hello.

I would expect to see some performance issues/degradation since you are no longer operating within the recommended operating conditions.  The firmware that you run with your application software will also error out if you try to configure this frequency slope.

    Sincerely,

    Santosh
