IWR6843ISK: External Trigger and External Clock

Part Number: IWR6843ISK

Tool/software:

I want to replace the xtal on two 6843ISK boards to use the exact same clock input (so with an external trigger, I can exactly sync the chirps) .  I think I can remove the xtals and input a canned crystal oscillator.  What voltage can I input?  It will be a cmos square wave most likely.  Next, I want to use an external trigger for the chirps.  It will be a pulse input, assuming the low voltage is zero, what is the peak for the pulse?  3.3v?

Thanks,

/Larry

  • Hi Larry,

It seems like you are trying to create a cascaded radar. I recommend investigating the IWR6243 which is designed for cascaded operations with one primary and up to three secondary devices. You can contact your local TI representative for more information and EVMs.

The pulsed input on the Sync_in pin should not exceed VIO.

    Thanks!
