TMP100: ADD0, ADD1 float condition

Part Number: TMP100

Tool/software:

Hello,

Our customer had a question ADD0, ADD1 float condition. Could you let us know "float" condition detail e.g. pin voltage, current, for fixing salve address 1001101,

when I checked the datasheet H level input logic, L level inout logic below, it seems between 0.3 (V+) to 0.7 (V+).

best regards,

  • Hi Toshiro,

Float refers to leaving an open connection (Hi-z) at the address pin. If more information on how the device detects the address pin connection is needed, please let me know.

    Best regards,

    Simon Rojas

  • Hi Simon,

Can you tell me how TMP100 address pin detects Hi-Z state ?

    Best regards,

  • Hi Toshiro,

After confirming with our design team, the TMP100 will detect the connection of the address pin by both sinking and sourcing current internally. In the state of a floating pin, the sinking voltage will go close to GND and the sourcing voltage will go close to VDD and this is how a HI-Z state is detected.

On the other hand, having a voltage divider or a voltage in between Vih and Vil, will make the device default to either a 1 or a 0 and the address will be undetermined. In short, if the desired address has a float connection at the address pin, the pin should be left open.

    Best regards,

    Simon Rojas
