DRV5055: Suggest us the IC part number for this application.

Part Number: DRV5055
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV5056-Q1

Tool/software:

We have selected DRV5055 Radiometric Linear Hall Effect Sensor for one of application. We are going to use N42 Axial cylindrical Magnet with diameter of 4mm and height 2mm. The application will be same as below image, The mechanism will move from X position to y position that we need to measure voltage thought Hall Effect Sensor. It will travel a distance of 30 to 40mm. Z axis is fixed to some mm distance and south pole will be facing outward. Suggest us the IC part number for this application.

  • Hi,

Thanks for posting to the Sensors forum and welcome to E2E!

From the images you shared, I see you have already started setting up a TIMSS simulation for your application. This is one of the best ways to get a sensor recommendation.

Can you finish setting up your TIMSS simulation and observe the results? It looks like you have selected the rotation motion and configured the magnet and sensor.

Because the rotation function in TIMSS involves the magnet rotating around the Z axis, I think you would need to offset the sensor location and magnet location from what is considered the axis of rotation in your application.'

    Best regards,

    Jesse

  • Hi Jesse,

Thanks for input. Sorry lastly i mislead you with sensor and Sensor orientation. We have selected DRV5056-Q1 Radiometric Linear Hall Effect Sensor for one of application. We are going to use N42 Axial cylindrical Magnet with diameter of 4mm and height 3mm. The application will be same as below image, The mechanism will move from X position to y position in arc trajectory that we need to measure voltage thought Hall Effect Sensor. It will travel a distance of in x-axis it travel 40mm to 5mm and In Y axis 2mm to -5mm, and Z axis is fixed to  8mm distance and south pole will be facing outward.. We will operate IC with 5V and we need linear output for this, Suggest us the IC part number for this application

  • Hi Aashik,

I will work on trying to set up a simulation for this case in our online magnetic simulator, TIMSS.

If you are interested in trying to set up a simulation as well, TIMSS is available here: https://webench.ti.com/timss/

    Best regards,

    Jesse
