I'm looking for examples that does computation of the µ-Doppler spectrum from the reflections around each detected object. There are examples done for IWR6432AOP, for example in motion_and_presence_detection_demo where calls to Udopproc (in MMWAVE-L-SDK) is used to do this calculations.

Where can I find similar examples for IWR6843? Or can this DPU be used also for IWR6843? I want to extend the 3d People tracking demo with this functionality.

This is not available for the IWR6843 device. You will need to either write it yourself or use the IWRL6432.

May I ask if you have any recommendations or foresee any issues in moving the DPU Udopproc from MMWAVE-L-SDK to radar toolbox 2.20?

Hi,

There are not any plans to move the microdoppler DPU from the MMWAVE-L-SDK to the MMWAVE-SDK, nor are there plans to write compatible code on the IWR6843. The radar toolbox is an alternative way of sharing application code irrespective of the device.

I thought the DSP in IWR6843 would be nice feature to have but maybe it is not needed? We want to do multiple people tracking indoor and to have a good filter for false positive targets (we have a "noisy" environment). If that can be done with IWRL6432 then yes, for sure we can change. We are currently in the investigation/prototype phase so we will check out the eval board for IWRL6432. Is the people tracking demo as accurate running on IWRL6432 as it is on IWR6843 (we like what we have seen so far when it comes to tracking and was now changing our focus to handle classification)?

Hi,

The main difference between the 6483 and 6432 will be angular resolution. The IWRL6432 can easily track 2-3 people, and can track as many as 5 people depending on the room size and constraints. If that meets your requirements, I would recommend the IWRL6432. If you need to track more than 5 people, then you will need the IWR6843.
