Tool/software:

We wrongly upload an other firmware to fdc1004qevm through GUI and it now shows LDC1614. We tried to upload fdc1004 firmware to the board but it fails.

We now want to switch back to the FDC1004 configuration but the firmware upload always fails.

There are instructions for re-setting the EVM firmware on the [(E2E] Inductive Sensing Frequently asked questions page.

Please see Q36 - I have 'bricked' my LDC1312, LDC1314, LDC1612, or LDC1614 EVM during a failed firmware upload attempt. What can I do to restore functionality?.

This is for some of our LDC EVM, but it should work for the FDC1004 EVM as well.
The layouts between the LDC & FDC EVMS are not the same, so some items may need to be translated to accommodate this.

Hi John, we could't find C29 on our board to re-flash it. Also, the board kept disconnect to the software and re connected after a few seconds. It keeps looping.

Jin,

Please look at the LDC1614 EVM schematic in that user's guide, C29 is connected to the uC VUSB pin (#54).
On the FDC1004 EVM, the corresponding component IS C6.
