TMP75B: Shutdown Mode

Part Number: TMP75B

Tool/software:

Hello team,

My customer can read temperature, even after enabling the Shutdown Mode. They told me the temp reading will change according to the room temp, even during Shutdown mode.

If the master reads the temperature register during Shutdown Mode, will it trigger the device to execute conversion?

Best Regards,
Kei Kuwahara

  • Hi Kei,

The device will start a conversion in Shutdown mode if the OS bit in the configuration register is written as 1. Is the customer actively writing/reading the configuration register as well? I would also encourage to check the communication lines when configuring the device into shutdown mode to ensure that:

    1. The device is acknowledging the write command
    2. The device is effectively being programmed into shutdown mode--i.e. make sure the correct command is being sent

    Best regards,

    Simon Rojas
