Hi all,

I'm about to start work on a design based very heavily on the MMWCAS-RF_EVM development board. I note that the radar IC part number (AWR2243APBGABLQ1) in the Altium design files is listed as obsolete on Digikey, and non-stocked by Mouser. Is there a recommended pin-compatible replacement for this with the same performance?

Hi James,

This seems to be an older part number which has been discontinued. There are currently two active OPN's I see on ti.com and also listed in the datasheet. Both of these should be pin compatible with the previous part and have the capability to cascade. You can find it in the following product page AWR2243 data sheet, product information and support | TI.com.

Hi Aydin,

Many thanks for confirming, I think I had read on another forum that the lack of the 'P' in AWR2243APBGA meant that cascading was not supported, glad to know this is not the case.

Hi James,

Just to clarify, the older parts may not support cascading. However, the current AWR2243 OPNs listed on ti.com should support cascading.
