OPT3101: High reflectance saturation phenomenon

What type of illuminator and detector are you using?

At what distance did you see saturation?

Does OPT3101 work properly with other targets?

1.The detector is SFH 2700 A01

2.The current mode used is HDR mode, the current size is 173.6ma and 22.4ma respectively, and the phenomenon of saturation will be encountered within two meters

3.All other targets are normal

Can the dealias mode reduce the phenomenon of saturation

De-aliasing mode is for extended distance detection, it won’t solve the saturation issue.

What’s the highest current / longest distance do you need in your application? If you have already at lowest driving current, you may consider LED with right dynamic range that can cover the distance for your application without saturating the detector.

Adding OD filter can also block some light in the system.

In the current current design, we can detect the distance of 20cm~8m very well. If the current is reduced again, it may cause a black detection object error. However, in the current design, it will encounter the problem of aluminum plate saturation.

Have you tried super HDR mode? What is the crosstalk after calibration?

1. We only used one channel (TX0), so we just used auto HDR.

2. The average value of crosstalk after calibration is 40~60 

Could you tell the LED PN and current setting in autoHDR mode?

Have you tried any other current settings?  You could choose one that can meet your application. 

I would suggest to reduce the current to address the saturation issue. 

You mentioned "black detection object error", could you explain more details?
