AWR2944EVM: CAN-FD bit rate

Hi Team,

We're working on CAN-FD in AWR2944EVM on which in spite of the document it says MCAN supports upto 8Mb/s in which by default set to 5Mb/s but when I can the Nom and data bit rate for custom rate the syscfg fails to initilze the CAN .

and spec which I'm trying to set.

Is there is any specific or val method for set up this setting.

Hi Eswaramoorthy,

We believe that CAN IP throughput may be limited to 5Mbps and not 8Mbps. I am checking with the team if this is a mistake in the datasheet reporting it as 8Mbps or if 8Mbps is truly supported in the IP.

Hi Ajay,

That's good to hear but when I try to increase the data rate MCAN is not initializing is there any certain procedure for or setting to highest rate of transimission.

Hi Eswaramoorthy,

After checking further, I got the information that even though the CAN IP supports 8mbps, its inconsistent and not validated to be used above 5mbps.

Hence, we will be limiting the bitrate to 5mbps.

We will be correcting the documentation to reflect the same in the next documentation refresh.
