Hi,

I recently updated the MMWAVE-L-SDK from 5.5.2.0 to 5.5.3.0 and found the debug.appimage I built or from prebuilt_binaries folder can not run with visualizer. After sending the cfg (e.g. motion and presence detection), the visualizer kept showing "No data detected on COM port, read timed out". The release.appimage is fine though.

If I disable low power mode (set lowPowerCfg to 0), then debug.appimage works normally. This doesn't happen on MMWAVE-L-SDK 5.5.2.0. Both debug and release build work fine with lowPowerCfg=1.

May I know why? I understand that when using debugger with debug build we need to prevent the device going into low power mode, however, I'm not running debugger to do step-by-step debugging.

Apologies for the delay in response while I was looking into this. In the latest SDK, the debug image is built such that it requires low power emulation mode in order to run as the debug software is built with the expectation that it will be used for debugging purposes. Can you try changing the low power cfg to lowPowerCfg 2 instead and see if it works?

Thanks for the reply. "lowPowerCfg 2" works with debug image. For " the debug image is built such that it requires low power emulation mode in order to run ", I assume that TI will follow this rule in the newer SDK release, right? If yes, we will adjust our our developemnt build and cfg accordingly.

Hello.

I think this will be the expectation, but to confirm I would just check the source code in future SDKs just to ensure this; it is all controlled by a #ifdef DEBUG flag and can be easily searched for in the software.
