TMP392: Testing resistor value in-circuit

Part Number: TMP392

Tool/software:

Hello there,

I'm using the TMP392 in a new design. To make sure the right resistor values are mounted, I'd like to test them after manufacturing in-circuit. The datasheet only refers to the in-system trip tests, which shows whether the sensor itself works properly.

So my plan would be to apply a voltage to the set resistors and measure the current. Could this plan work or are there any significant leakage currents into the sensor (besides the +-20 nA according to the datasheet) which would lead to wrong results?

Thank you very much

Best regards,

Mitja

  • Hi Mitja,

I am not aware of any additional source of leakage or any other reason why this wouldn't work, I think you are good to proceed with this test. Just be aware the the SET pins have a 125KOhm internal pull-down resistor, so that may need to be taken into account when doing your current measurements and calculations.

    Thanks
