IWR6843AOP: IWR6843AOP

Part Number: IWR6843AOP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR6843, IWRL6432

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

We are currently evaluating radar chips for our wearable device focused on heart rate detection and respiration monitoring, and I would appreciate your clarification on the most suitable chip for these requirements.

Our primary goal is to monitor heart rate and breathing patterns using a non-contact method. We're considering the IWR6843 from Texas Instruments for this purpose, as it's a mmWave radar sensor. However, I would like to confirm if this chip is ideal for a wearable device that needs to accurately detect heartbeats and breathing signals. Are there any potential limitations or concerns with the IWR6843 for these specific applications?

Additionally, are there any other radar chips from Texas Instruments or alternative sensor solutions that could better suit our needs for accurate heart rate and respiration monitoring in a wearable health device?

Regards,

Sathiya

  • Hi Sathiya,

Thanks for the question. Please give us a day or so to get back to you with a response.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Sathiya,

Vital signs demo is available on IWR6843 and IWRL6432. As you intend to use on a wearable, we recommend using IWRL6432 for your application

IWRL6432 is a low power radar which can be used on portable applications. You can find the Vital signs demo on IWRL6432 at the below location in radar toolbox

  • Hi Abhishek Karkisaval,

    sorry for the delayed response.

Our requirement is focused on a wearable solution for pet heart rate detection and respiration monitoring. While we appreciate the recommendation of the IWRL6432, the size of this chip seems a bit large for our application.

Could you kindly suggest if there is another TI chip that might be more suitable for this wearable, compact design?

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to your response.

    Regards,
    Sathiya

  • Hi Sakthi

    IWRL6432 device is available in 3 packages. FCCSP(6.45mm x 6.45mm), AOP(10.5mm x 6.45mm), WCSP(4.87mmx4.87mm)

You can consider using WCSP package of IWRL6432 which has the lowest footprint.
