AWRL6432BOOST: BPM Decoding of mmw_demo

Part Number: AWRL6432BOOST

Tool/software:

Hi TI experts,

In mmw_demo,

isBpmEnable in Range DPU is disabled and BPM decoding is performed in AOA2D DPU.

Why is BPM decoding performed in AOA2D DPU?

What is the difference with Range DPU BPM?

Can't it be performed in Range DPU with setting isBpmEnable?

Thank you.

JB

  • Hi JB,

Thanks for posting your question over E2E. Please allow our SW expert a day or two to respond.
Can you please let us know what is the end application, you are looking for?

  • Hi, JB:

    (1) When we do BPM demodulation in range DPU, there is no Doppler information, so there will be no Doppler compensation before BPM demodulation.

    (2) When move BPM demodulation to AOA2D, Doppler information is there, so Doppler compensation will be applied before BPM demodulation.

You will need to make your decision based on how critical Doppler compensation is critical to your application.

    Best,

    Zigang
