OPT101: How to model the OPT101 opamp

Part Number: OPT101

Tool/software:

Hello team,

My customer wants to use the OPT to measure a light pulse, a bandwidth <100Hz is good enough. Based on this he used as external filter 16kOhm and 1nF and it oscillates.

I assume that the external values violate the rate of closure Aol vs. 1/beta.

Is there a model we could use?

P.S. I tried to look for the opamp data but fail to find the data to build a simple model myself.

P.S.S. Customer runs it from 5V supply.

  • Hello Frank,

Thank you for using the E2E forum. It's important to consider whether or not you are using device with internal resistor enabled or disabled. Regardless, if you are aiming to increase responsivity in lower frequency ranges (without external additions device bandwidth is 14kHz) you are going to need to implement a much larger external resistor value. Please see section 8.3 of the device data sheet for more details. Below I have attached some tables you may find useful.
