AWR2944: Why does this operation "Process pending Dynamic Commands" not execute in first frame?

Hi,

From AWR2944 OOB example source and system initial flow, I have a question about this stage "Process pending Dynamic Commands" that's mapping to "MmwDemo_processPendingDynamicCfgCommands()" in source code.

Why it isn't executes in first frame? I mean setup it before sensor start.

radar toolbox version: v2_30_00_12

Hi,

MmwDemo_processPendingDynamicCfgCommands function is used in TDM demo. Since the CCS projectspec in Radar toolbox corresponds to DDM demo, MmwDemo_processPendingDynamicCfgCommands function is not called.

I have been changed the AWR2944 demo project to TDM. This function "MmwDemo_processPendingDynamicCfgCommands" will be executed. I would like to know why it's not call before sensor start?

Hi,

Please check the demo code flow. MmwDemo_processPendingDynamicCfgCommands is called after the processing of ADC data is completed and point cloud is transferred over UART.

Hi,

MmwDemo_processPendingDynamicCfgCommands function is used to configure new parameters if there is any configuration is received after sensorStart. This functionality might not be fully tested. I suggest you to not send any configuration after sensorStart.

Since this function is for dynamic reconfiguration, this should be called after processing of the current frame ends. Ideally this configuration should be used for next frame/subframe. Any configuration sent via CLI before sensorStart is already used to configure the mmWave link and the datapath. This function is not used to check if all the commands are sent before sensorStart.
