TMP102: TMP102 bypass capacitor

Part Number: TMP102

Tool/software:

Hi Team

Regarding the bypass capacitor for the TMP102, the data sheet recommends 0.01uF, but would 0.1uF be okay?

Also, is the recommendation of 0.01uF based on the frequency characteristics of the capacitor?

Best Regards

  • Hello and thank you for your question,

Using a larger capacitor should be fine for the TMP102. The 0.01uF value in the datasheet is given to demonstrate the lowest capacitor value the user can implement without compromising the device's performance from a stability/noise protection standpoint.

    Regards,
