Depending on the coils' dimensions, you might be able to approximate rectangular coils as racetrack coils, which are supported by our Inductive Sensing Design Calculator Tool, which will also provide an estimate of the distance vs. inductance of the coil, along with other parameters.
The tool will also provide recommended device settings based on your design parameters.

The number of turns in the coil can also have a big impact on the inductance.
You can vary the diameter and number of turns in the Inductive Sensing Design Calculator Tool and look at the impact of the two parameters on the coil's inductance.
