AWR2243: RX Beamforming Explanation needed for Design Guide "TIDEP-01012"

Part Number: AWR2243

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am currently working into the AWR2243 Reference Design: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/tiduen5a/tiduen5a.pdf and I am experiencing trouble in understanding the principles of your RX Beamforming provided in the chapter about "TX Beamforming Signal Processing"

As far as I know the described TX-Beamforming is nothing different to analog Beamforming or? In addition I don't get the point of the RX Beamforming, is this done to achieve digital Beamforming or something else? In the whole Design Guide It's always about TX-Beamforming/Beamsteering and suddenly in this chapter you are referencing to RX Beamforming and not explaining in detail the use of it.

I would be grateful if someone could explain to me the use of this RX beamforming and maybe give me some sources so I can read more details about it.

Thank you in advance!
