IWR6843AOP: Is MX25R1635FZUIH0 tested and can be used for flash part for IWR6843AOP ???

Part Number: IWR6843AOP

Tool/software:

Hi Support,

My customer is facing some issue after first programming, the IWR6843AOP refuse to program again.

No programming issue on TI evm board testing, but we are now fabricated and test on 8 custom PCB board and found this issue.Total 8 units prototype boards. 4 units can program and the other 4 units failed to reprogram.

The flash we used is MX25R1635FZUIH0, can I check if this compatible with IWR6843AOP as per guideline here: Flash Variants Supported by the mmWave Sensor (Rev. G)

  • Hi there,

MX25R1635FZUIH0 is supported and we use the same QSPI flash variant in TI EVM as well.

As 4 among 8 units can successfully be programmed, it could be something else.

I can see the log where it is asking to reset the device. Have you tried power cycling the device?

Also, could you please double check the switch settings of your board to ensure there is no functional issue?

    Thanks,

    Swarnendu

  • hi Swarnendu,

If I compare MX25R1635FZNIH0 (on Ti eval kit) vs MX25R1635FZUIL0 (cust custom board)

The main difference is the ultra-low power mode and the high-performance mode which you can configure using Configuration Register -2 bit 1=1 to make it equivalent to the one used on Ti eval kit.

You can see the frequency is really different by 10x. Will this affected the programming failure?

  • Hi,

IWR6843AOP EVM (TI) uses MX25R1635FZUIH0. Which reference design are you referring here?

Yes, clock frequency greater than or equal to 80MHz is required. Are you using lower clock frequency? If so, I would recommend using >= 80MHz.

    Thanks,

    Swarnendu
