Hi,

We use the IWR6843AOP for the mmWave radar design, and we have ordered the EVM of MMWAVEICBOOST/ DCA1000EVM/ IWR6843AOPEVM demo for testing,

We have the below issue that need your support:

1. We use the EVM testing but we hear the large current noise, and we have no idea why it has the noise;

2. Please advise if TI has the reference antenna array calibration parameters?

3. Please advise if TI calibrate antenna before the goods leaving the factory?

4. Are there any error if IWR6843AOP use the external crystal.

Hi there,

Please find below my responses:

1. It could be due to large capacitors (MLCC). Please refer to the below document to understand more about it and mitigate as well.

2. There are self-calibration and monitoring capability in the mmWave sensor. Please refer to the below document:

Also, factory calibration could be done to compensate the process dependent factors. Refer to below document for more details on it:

If you mean anything else by antenna array calibration, please let me know.

3. For AOP devices, antenna is calibrated in-house.

4. Please follow the recommendations for external oscillator, mentioned in device data sheet:
