Hi, Below are the specifications for IWR6243 and IWRL6432AOP using an external clock.

Im a bit unsure about DC-trise/fall and DCVil/DCVih parameter. Can you elaborate how they are specified(how they are measured)? Are they only for when using DC coupled square wave?

Hi Johan,

These parameters are specified for the external clock source (DC coupled square wave). For the detection of the clock source, the external oscillator the device clock sub-system requires the source to have a Max rise/fall time of 10ns. The Vih/Vil are the logic levels specified at the device side. Hence, the external oscillator needs to meet these specs to source the clock to the mmWave device.

These values are not measured, rather these are the specifications for the device clock sub-system for the external clock source detection.

Hi Swarnendu,

Thanks for the input. We plan to use a AC coupled sine wave (clipped sine) as external clock that are within all the other requirements(except DC- trise/fall, DCVih/Vil) so then we should be fine.

Hi Johan,

That is correct. You only require meeting the swing requirements for the AC coupled inputs.

DC- trise/fall, DCVih/Vil = these are for DC coupled input.
