AWR6843AOP: AWR6843AOP may radiate frequency other than 60-64GHz

Hi Expert,

Our radar sensor (AWR6843AOP) is undergoing EMC testing, but some test items have failed. Specifically, we did not pass the Radiated RF Emissions (RE 310) test due to excessive power at certain frequencies (details below).

Our tests indicate that the Radar SoC itself radiates frequencies beyond its main operating range (60–64 GHz). We would like to know if others have encountered similar issues and how they addressed them. Any insights, comments, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Daniel,

Please find the FCC 47 CFR Part 15 report in the following link which talks about radiated emission of xWR6843AOP EVM: FCC 47 CFR Part 15, Subpart B Report
The radiated emissions have passed for the EVM, and we also do not observe spike at 32.5MHz similar to what you are observing on your board, as shown in the below image. For more information related to emission certification, you can refer to Emissions Certification. The spike/ emission you are observing at 32.5MHz is not from the radar device.
