IWRL6432AOP: How can I detect motion objects if the mmWave radar is moving by itself?

Part Number: IWRL6432AOP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWRL6432

Tool/software:

Hello,

I have ordered the IWRL6432 EVK and demo the motion detection capability. My question is what if my radar is moving, how can I use it to sense moving objects? Most mmWave radar used for motion detection will do static object removal first. If the radar is moving by itself, all stationary objects become moving and will have false alarm. Is there a way to make IWRL6432 behave like ADAS radar? Thanks!

  • Hi,

Most automotive use-cases choose to sense stationary and moving objects, which can be accomplished by removing the clutterRemoval CLI argument from the out of box demo. You may also consider using the mmwave demo, which is preferred by automotive customers for its range-doppler based processing chain.

    Best,

    Nate
