AWR1843: CAN-FD 8Mbps problem

Part Number: AWR1843

Tool/software:

I am trying to communicate using CAN-FD at 8 Mbps on TI's AWR1843. Communication works fine at 5 Mbps, but when I configure it for 8 Mbps, no data is being transmitted.

What could be the possible reasons, and how can I resolve this issue?

Thanks.

PFA for more details.

  • Hi,

Please give us some time to check CAN-FD validation speed

    thank you

    Cesar

  • Hi

The datasheet mentions that the CAN-FD has been validated up to 10MBps.

When you say "no data being transmitted" did you check the activity on the BUS?

Usually the higher the rate the tighter the clock requirements.

You need to make sure that this signal is clean at 5MBps

Are you using a TI EVM?

    Thank you

    Cesar

  • Hi Cesar

I'm using the board I made,
At 8 Mbps, only the Arbitration field (1 Mbps) is shown and then the data field (8 Mbps) is not output.

The CAN transceiver chip (TJA1462AT/0Z) is also a chip that supports up to 8 Mbps.

  • Hi

    Sorry for the delay.

Unfortunately our support team does not have new recommendations.

We have supported other customers on this forum that have used higher CAN-FD rates in their systems. So, we think that the silicon is functional.

    Thank you

    Cesar
