Hello TI Team,

I'm experiencing the exact same issue described in a previous thread. Initially, the board worked perfectly, and I’ve consistently used the recommended 5V 3A power supply. However, it suddenly stopped functioning.

Even after switching to a new board, I'm encountering a similar problem. While the FPGA LED lights up, the Lattice LFE5UM-85 chip becomes extremely hot almost immediately after being powered on.

Could you please advise on what might be causing this and how to proceed?

Hello Abdel,

When saying you switch to a new board, are you saying you switched to a second DCA1000EVM and caused the same issue?

Hello Pedrhom,

Yes, I have switched to a second never used before DCA1000EVM and issue with that is similar to the old one. This one heats up almost immediately and although it shows the connection in device manager when connected via USB the Diamond software cannot detect it.

Hello Abdel,

It is normal for it to get hot, so I am not sure exactly what is happening here. With a 5V 3A power supply, and proper switch settings, there should be not repeating issue with regards to DCA1000s being broken after little use. I would replace this power supply in case it has faulty power spikes, as the DCA1000 has high current draw spikes and maybe something is happening there with the power supply.
