AWR1843AOP: How to run USRR (MIMO) mode on AOP

Part Number: AWR1843AOP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1843BOOST,

Tool/software:

As quoted in this thread.

"The MIMO mode, specifically USRR, will not run on the AWR1843AOP (AOP) device because its antenna pattern differs from that of the AWR1843BOOST device. The demo would require redesigning to accommodate the AOP's antenna configuration for MIMO operation. "

What exactly does this redesign mean? Any suggestions on what changes should be made in the DPC, when I checked the ODS lab, it uses AOP in MIMO mode. The DPC is more or less the same, but there's a provision to feed in the antenna geometry through the CLI in that lab, which isn't the case with the MRR lab. Upon further investigation, there's no provision to set the geometry pattern in this lab.

  • Hi,

The MIMO processing chain is similar to the mmwave sdk OOB demo.

The main thing that needs to be modified is the angle detection.

Unfortunately the team that developed the mmwave SDK 3.6 is no longer available for support. So you would need to use the source code to guide you through the changes

    thank you
