AWR2544: Limitation of the 1DFFT size to output by CSI2

Hi,

Customer wants to output IDFFT data by CSI2 interface. They are wondering if they uses ping-pong buffer to output 1DFFT data, once the EDDMA to internal RAM throughput is less than the CSI throughput, there will be no other limitation of 1DFFT data size. Is this correct?

I think the max ADC data for one chirp is limited by ADC buffer size and this will also limited the size of 1DFFT for one chirp.

Any other comment?

Hello Chris,

Can you confirm me which exact ping pong you have mentioned here? If the data generation is slower than the CSI2 transmit speed, then you will have no issues with streaming.

No need to care about the internal memory size (2MB) in this case, right?

Hello Chris,

Yes this is right: max ADC data for one chirp is limited by ADC buffer size and this will limit the 1DFFT for one chirp as well.
Only in the continuous mode this is not true as there is no concept of chirp then. it will continuously keep filling ADC ping and pong.
