TMAG5253: Linear Hall sensor TMAG5253

Part Number: TMAG5253

Tool/software:

Dear Team,

Can we use this linear hall sensor for slide by application or is it limited to head on configuration?

We want to use for crack displacement monitoring, for only positive side 0-2mm displacement and expecting resolution for 0.5micrometer or better. Is it suitable for this application or do u advice to use 3D hall sensors. we want fix the sensor at 0mm at move the magnet parallel to the sensor in one direction keeping the magnet fixed.

  • Hey Priya,

Yes the TMAG5253 can be used for slide by.  This document gives a high level view of how its done:  https://www.ti.com/lit/ab/sbaa513b/sbaa513b.pdf

You can use our TIMSS tool (https://webench.ti.com/timss/) to try and simulate various designs.  As the tool provides instant visual feedback on the magnet sensor placement and the simulations are fast, you might be able to find something that fits your constraints in a relatively short period of time.  Please give it a test run.  If you run into issues with the tool, please reach out and I will be happy to further assist you.
