IWRL6432AOP: availability of IWRL6432AOP for our current designs and its maximum detection range

Part Number: IWRL6432AOP

Tool/software:

We need to use this device for our upcoming application, in few months to start.

When this device will be available for purchase and use in our application.

Whether this device can support 30 meter detection range with optimally designed

radome at 57 GHz in broadside direction.

What will be the cost of this device, our application may go for mass production,

we need to have cost estimate for our application.

Thank you.

  • Hi Malakshmi,

For the latest timelines and cost estimates, please contact your local TI representative.

Can you define what you mean by "broadside detection"? Do you mean at the edge of our defined FOV? Or do you have a particular off-boresight angle in mind?

    Thanks!

    Blake

  • Whether we can get 30 meter distance at 0 degree in FOV with optimally designed radome.

In website we are unable to see the cost and availability of this part,

Eval boards are available for purchase.

Whether this device will be available for purchase and at what cost,

    We don't have local representatives.

    Thank you.

  • Hey Mahalakshmi,

I have contacted your local field representative and they will reach out to you about pricing and RTM timelines.

As for boresight detection, i think that with a standard radome, 30m will be quite difficult. Have you considered using a lens?

    Thanks,

    Blake

  • Thank you for the reply. Thank you for communicating to local field representatives.

The datasheet first page says , typical range is 25 meters,

        1. What are the expected challenges in getting 25 meter detection distance when used with radome (polyurethane).

        2. You have mentioned that 30 meter detection distance is quite difficult, to achieve 30 meter distance whether any option

        is available.

       3.  Can you give more details about lens, whether it will improve the detection range,

       4.  Since the radar range equation depends on the Frame time(N*Tc), whether we can increase the frame time to get the

        30 meter detection range

    Thank you.

  • Blake I have a similar question about pricing and RTM timelines, could you also connect me to my local rep please?

  • Mahalakshmi,

The typical detection distance is quoted at boresight. A lens can be used to improve detection, however it will shrink your FoV.
