Hey there,

I have tried the different power modes of the EvalBoard BOOSTXL-TUSS4470. For the external Power I have tried 5V, 8V, 12V, 20V and finally 31V to max out the response of the Transducer Signal. After increasing the voltage, the board was not responding anymore at the last step.
Is there any critical component or problem which can occur due to that voltage? I thought the max voltage should be at 36V (printed at the board and datasheet).

I flashed the LAUNCHPAD MSP430F5529 EVAL again but only have the IO1 and IO2 Pins on 0.

Hello Markus,

36V should only be connected to the "main" supply rail. Be sure that you are only applying the high voltage to main. If this were connected to VDD, this could overvoltage and damage the microcontroller. If you reduce the voltage, do you still see the problem?

Hello Eddie,
I have connected all jumpers like the Standard (Default) config as your picture shows. Sadly the IC does not get any SPI connection anymore (with USB only and also Standard with less voltage).

What would I try next?
I am also using the LAUNCHPAD MSP430F5529 EVAL BRD, could that have been damaged due to the external main power supply?

Are you able to reprogram the MSP430F5529 board? That may help confirm if there was damage to this board.

I just reprogrammed the MSP again and the message looks fine. What do you think?

Thanks. It seems that the MSP board is okay if you are able to reprogram.

It is possible that the TUSS4470 board was damaged. 36V on the main input should not have caused this with the correct jumper configuration.

You could check the power path and see if possibly the LDO(U3) is not outputting the correct voltage now. Also, check the supply to the TUSS device. Check if there is excessive current. You can find the schematic in figure 23 of the users guide below.
