Hi,

I'm trying to rise awr2944evn with dca1000evm via mmWave Studio.

Currently, I'm not able to download the FW - the loader is just stacked. Yesterday I was able to do that, but today I'm not. I have no idea what went wrong.

Hello,

Can you try below procedure.

1. remove power and all cables from EVM and DCA1000

2. plug power into AWR2944EVM

3. plug USB cables into AWR2944EVM

4. plug power into DCA1000

There are some potential issues with the PMIC watchdog timeout caused by the leakage on the FTDI port if you plug in the USB before powering on the EVM. To resolve this, it is required to plug power in before the USB.

That helped, thanks! But at the end I have EEPROM_READ_FAIL led switched on. It occurs when I load BSS FW.

I haven't found a clear explanation in e2e.

What does it mean and why it happens?

Hello,

EEPROM_READ_FAIL means that the DCA did not boot properly. Please ensure that you followed the boot steps that Adrian provided. You can also check on device manager before to ensure that all the connections are there.

If still not working, can you please provide pictures of the connections, you have on your boards with the USBs. It seems there is no USB connection to DCA1000EVM.

You are right. I have two USBs connected to PC, both from the EVM, and none from DCA. I was told to connect that way in the case of 2944

Hello,

Your connections are correct. EEPROM fail is not related to the 2944 but related to the DCA1000. Please try reprogramming the FPGA on the DCA1000. It is discussed in the following doc

If that does not work, you can return it for replacement
