IWRL6432: backoff0 parameter in factoryCalibcfg

Is there any document about how to set up backoff0 in factoryCalibcfg? We want to increase the SNR value since our radar is covered by plastic material in our application. But we have concerns about setting backoff0 = 0 dB. Please let us know the possible drawback of setting backoff0 = 0 dB

Hello,

What is it that you are looking for exactly? backoff0 being set to 0 is standard in many of our 6432 example demo configuration files. It means the TX is being sent at full power. The value can be set to anything between 0 and 26 which will apply a 0DB to 26DB backoff of the power to each TX.

Since Figure 4-2 in https://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra820b/swra820b.pdf?ts=1748568654333 suggests some minimum TX backoff value. We are using 1400kHz HPF, and it seems that this document only suggest to set TX backoff value be above 3db. That is why I have concern to set TX backoff to 0dB

Hello Hao-Hsuan,

Are you using IWRL6432 or IWRL6432AOP? The document is more applicable for the AOP version, where the antennas are closer together to create a small form factor but as a result makes it more prone to ADC saturation.
