IWRL6432AOP: frame time of IWRL6432 and mmwave sensors

Part Number: IWRL6432AOP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVE-L-SDK

Tool/software:

in page number37 of datasheet, figure 7.11 indicates the frame time as 25ns to 4 microsecond or "user defined

active frame time",

whether this much small frame time is supported by this device.

If this much fast frame time is supported what is the fastest chirp time supported.

From data sheet speciifications, how to identify the supported minimum and maximum chirp time and frame time etc.

  • Mahalakshmi,

I understand that you are referring to the below table:

This is about the frame trigger pulse width. The IWRL6432AOP device supports a hardware based mechanism to trigger radar frames. An external host can pulse the SYNC_IN signal to start radar frames. A software API trigger must be provided to set up the device for the hardware SYNC_IN trigger.

The active frame time is user defined. Based on the application requirement you have flexibility to use different number of chirps/bursts with timing flexibility. The trigger pulse width should be greater than 25ns and less than either 4us or the active frame time if it is lesser than 4us.

The device chirp ramp time can be as low as 20ns if configured properly, hence the active frame time can be less than 4us based on the configuration. To get more details regarding the timings please refer to the Device Firmware Package (DFP) documentations available in the MMWAVE-L-SDK download.

    Thanks,

    Swarnendu
