AWRL6432: The I2C frequency configuration

Hi TI experts,

We want to know how to configure the I2C rightly.

Currently, we configure the I2C peripheral by TI system configure that bit rate is 100KHZ.

We found that the internal clock is 4MHZ when the bit rate is 100K based on the SDK code.

We check the L6432 Technical Manual Guide, the internal clock should be the Module Clock.

But the Module clock must be between 6.7M and 13.3M. We want to know which is right? Can we configure the I2C to 100KHZ?

Hi Ajay,

When we set the I2C bit rate to 100KHA, we don't face any issue now. And the error of frequency is better than 400KHZ.

The aim of asking the question just want to confirm if there is potential issue.

Hi Yongheng,

Sorry for the delay, I got the answer from the design team. It is recommended to have the Module clock between 6.7M and 13.3M to filter out any noise on the lines. So, this explains the behavior on why you see no issue in functionality when SDK sets it to 4Mhz.

I will raise this as an issue in our internal JIRA and will be scheduled to be fixed in future release of the SDK.
