Hi Experts,

I'm currently using the IWR6843AOPEVM to detect breathing rate, but the results are not ideal. The test subject is positioned 0.5 meters from the radar, with an actual breathing rate of approximately 20 BPM. However, the Industrial Visualizer shows the detected rate fluctuating randomly between 8 to 30 BPM.

I would like to ask:
Is there anything wrong with my procedure? Or are there any settings I should modify to achieve accurate breathing rate detection?

You can expect an error rate of +/-5 with breathing rate with IWR6843AOPEVM. This is possible when the person remains stationary for 20 seconds while the sensor is facing the chest area of the person.

Thank you for your reply. In my case, after the person remains still for about 20 seconds, the detected breathing rate still shows an error of ±10 BPM. Have you encountered a similar situation in your experience?

Hi,

Yes, it is possible that you could see error more than the typical range. It depends on the clothes that person could be wearing like jacket.
