IWR6843AOPEVM: To capture the RAW data form DCA1000EVM with IWR6843AOPEVM and IWR6843ISK boards

Part Number: IWR6843AOPEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR6843ISK, DCA1000EVM, MMWAVE-STUDIO

Tool/software:

My DCA1000EVM is rev.A , could it standalone capture raw data from IWR6843AOPEVM/IWR6843ISK boards ?

Or I need a MMWAVEICBOOT to put between DCA1000 and 6843xx?  Or need other REV. boards of DCA1000?

  • The mmWaveStudio version I used is 04_03_01_00.  I meet serial port can't be connected problem.  IWR6843AOPEVM is rev.G

  • Hi,

By the way, I install mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00 just now and it could do DCA1000 raw data capture.

Please help to re-test with mmWaveStudio 04_03_01_00 if it can do DCA1000 RAW data capture with IWR6843AOPEVM  rev.G and

give me the steps how to achieve it.  Thanks a lot.

       Best regards,

                        C.C.

  • Hello C.C.,

Why do you want to use 04_03_01? Is there a feature there that does not exist for 02_01_01? Our revisions of mmWave Studio is more along the lines of each revision supporting a different set of silicon. So there is no plans to have 6843 work with mmWaveStudio 4, especially when it works fine with mmWaveStudio 2.

    Best Regards,

    Pedrhom

  • Hi, Pedrhom.

By first time installed SDK , I think most should select the newest one.

And there's no document mentioned about  no plans to have 6843 work with mmWaveStudio 4.

So, may I know what platforms supported on mmWaveStudio 4 with DCA1000 ?

         Thanks a lot.

  • Hello C.C.,

Our apologies for this not being clear. On the MMWAVE-STUDIO downloads page, the descriptor next to the download notes what devices that MMWAVE-STUDIO version is for. mmWaveStudio 4 is the MMWAVE-STUDIO-XWRL68XX download, and is currently meant for the xWRL6844 device.

    Best Regards,

    Pedrhom
