Dear TI Engineers,

I would like to ask whether the IWR6843AOP supports external memory expansion.

We are currently adjusting the FOV parameter to 90 degrees and setting angleSearchStep to 7. However, we encountered an L2 memory shortage issue.

Is there any way to extend memory externally to address this problem?

Hi,

We do not support this feature on the device. I would recommend streaming ADC data to an external processor if you want more memory for processing.

I’d like to ask, is it possible to send out the results of each step of the algorithm processing? For example, the results of the range FFT, static clutter removal, and the generated range-angle heatmap — can these be sent to MATLAB for real-time visualization of the processed effects?

Hi,

We do not offer this, but you may program it yourself if you decide. It will limit your frame rate dramatically.

I’d like to ask, during your development process, if you don’t extract and inspect the results at each step of the algorithm, how do you ensure that each step is effectively processing the data?

Hi,

I can assure you that we do validate every step of our algorithm and inspect the results at each step. Unfortunately we are not able to offer this as an external feature though due to proprietary information and support burden. It is just for our software validation process.
