Tool/software:
Hello,
I’m working with two IWR6843ISK radar boards.
One is flashed with the standard out-of-box binary (out_of_box_6843_isk.bin)
The other is flashed with the low power mode binary (out_of_box_6843_aop_lp.bin)
To reduce power consumption in the low power setup, I configured it with:
1 Tx antenna (out of 3 possible)
4 Rx antennas
Frame rate reduced from 10 fps to 5 fps
However, I observed that the low power mode actually consumes more current than the standard out-of-box version.
Here are the measurements:
Low Power Mode (out_of_box_6843_aop_lp.bin)
Antenna Config: 4Rx, 1Tx (60° Azimuth, 60° Elevation)
mmwDemo:/>frameCfg 0 0 16 0 200 1 0
mmwDemo:/>profileCfg 0 60 975 7 57.14 0 0 70 1 256 5209 0 0 158
Frame rate: 5 fps
Voltage: 5.08V – 5.09V
Current: 0.26A – 0.28A
Out-of-Box Demo (out_of_box_6843_isk.bin)
Default settings
mmwDemo:/>frameCfg 0 1 16 0 100 1 0
mmwDemo:/>profileCfg 0 60 459 7 57.14 0 0 70 1 256 5209 0 0 158
Voltage: 5.01V – 5.09V
Current: 0.23A – 0.26A
Voltage and current were measured using a USB meter (KCX-017).
Has anyone experienced something similar?
Is there something I might be missing in the low power configuration?
Any insights or suggestions would be appreciated!
Best regards,
Keyvan
