AWR2944: The antenna problem of our own AWR2944 board

Part Number: AWR2944

Tool/software:

Hi,

Our own AWR2944 board according to the AWR2944 EVM is as belows:

The lines marked with a red circle are  curved not streight,   what impact will he have on radar signal?

BR,

Rata

  • Hi Rata,

If the antenna copper is bent, curved, or discontinuous as shown, this can cause reflections which will impact radar performance including reduced transmitted/received power, degraded SNR, beam pattern distortion, and angle estimation errors. It's critical to maintain consistent impedance and phase matching.

  • Hi Aydin,

Thanks for your reply. Are there any software methods to rectify or reduce these impacts?

  • Hi Rata,

Unfortunately, there isn't really a software workaround for physical antenna damage or discontinuities. The antenna geometry directly affects RF performance (matching, radiation pattern, phase alignment) which can't be corrected in software alone. The best path would be to rework or replace the affected hardware.
