IWR6843: About cfarCfg change

Part Number: IWR6843

Tool/software:

Hi,

The user guide explains that the cfarCfg of CLI command can be changed while the sensor is running.

Why can it be changed while the sensor is running?

Why don't it have to stop the sensor?

I think the timing when CLI commands are sent to the IWR6843 is asynchronous. Are CLI command reception processes interrupt processes? Or are they stored in a buffer and can be received later by polling?

If it is interrupt process, won't the processing performed by MSS be delayed? (Does it occur a time lag between the point cloud output and the actual frame)

  • Hi,

This value can be changed adaptively in software because it is just the value selected as the minimum amount of power to detect a point. This note intends to tell the user that this will not change the chirping parameters, and the front end will not need to be reconfigured.

    Best,

    Nate
