AWR2944: How could I adjust TX output power of AWR2944?

Part Number: AWR2944

Tool/software:

Hi TI expert,

Could I know how to adjust output power from AWR2944? Is there a TX back off parameter to adjust?

 Default setting is MAX. power,right?

How can we check current power setting?

BR, Jesse.

  • Hello,

I will get back by end of day tomorrow.

    Best,

    Gabriel

  • Hi sir,

Do you have any updated to us?

    Thanks/Stanley

  • Hi sir,

Briefly speaking, I describe the issue we get it currently.

Everytime we restart device to measure, we would get lower output power as normal value from datasheet.

In 20% we got expected value as datasheet, in 80% we would get lower power level about 5dB degration from expected power level.

We may need your help to figure it out why we met the issue.

    Thanks/Stanley

  • Hello,

For monitoring purposes you can run monitoring on your Tx antennas (a default feature provided by the demo). Due to the nature of this E2E I will be reassigning to a better qualified team member. Expect some possible delays due to holiday.

    Best,

    Gabriel

  • Hello,

Yes Stanley. You can adjust the power using the power back off option in profile config.

And yes, the default setting is 0dB back off making it the max.

What tool are you using to setup the device?

  • Hi,

Currently, it's more urgent to figure out why power level is degrated about 0~5dB after re-start device everytime.

e.g At one time, power level is degrated stable 5dB than expected power. After restating next time, power level is degrated stable 3dB than expected power.

We ever get expected power level, but usually we can't get expected power level.

Did you ever get the issue on your side before?

Do you have any idea to check why power level would be degarted?

    Thanks/Stanley

  • The output power is expected to be what is programmed. Can you help with below questions:

    1. WHat tool are you using to set the output power

    2. How are you measuring the output power

    3. What is the temp at which you are testing?

    4. Are boot and runtime calibrations enabled?

    5. Is this observed across multiple devices?

    6. What firmware version are you using?
