AWR1843BOOST: Beam steering demo project compile failure

Part Number: AWR1843BOOST

Tool/software:

Hi, if I need to work on beam steering function, which demo should I refer to? Currently I'm using MRR beam steering demo project but I cannot compile the project, lots of error pump out.

When compile DSS, I got following warnings:

When compile MSS, I got folloiwng errors:

Since there are some obvious errors, I'm considering if this is an incomplete demo?

  • Hi Yifan,

Are you using 3.2.0.04 SDK or some other version? You can check the CCS projectspecs and use same compiler version and same version of SDK.

If you use the same version as mentioned in the projectspecs, you should be able to build the applications without any errors.

  • I'm using 3.6.2 SDK. I'm pretty sure the SDK should be fine because I'm also working on OOB project developing and I have put many customized functions in it and everything is working well. However I'm not sure if the MMR beamsteering demo is fine because I imported it from radar tool box instead of SDK. So I'm curious about which demo project should I refer to?

  • Hi Yifan,

MRR Beamsteering demo is not ported to the latest SDK. This demo uses a very old version of SDK and there are many updates since the release of 3.2.0.4 SDK. If you want to use latest SDK, the application should first be ported to the latest SDK. Else, you can install 3.2.0.4 SDK and build MRR beamsteering demo.

  • Thanks, is there any update plan or maintainance plan for this demo? cause I believe beamsteering is a very important feature for this chirp. It would be great if the demos are all updated to the latest SDK and platform.

    Regards

  • Yifan,

Currently, we do not have the plan to update to the latest SDK. I have taken a note about this.

For now, I suggest you to port the application to latest SDK by yourself.
