TMP1827EVM: EMV access to devices configured at different resistor addresses

Is it possible to use the TMP1827EVM to access TMP1827 parts at different resistor addresses? We are trying to use the TMP1827 as an electronic ID in production we want to store production information and lock it and then in our actual product it is used as a dual purpose temperature sensor and read only ID.

Opening the TMP1827EVM GUI I can access the device and go change the mode to use resistor address, but when I do that, it disconnects and I can't find where to configure the GUI settings.

Are you using https://dev.ti.com/gallery/info/THSApps/TMP1827EVM/ ? Some old links still point to the TMP1826 software, which does not have the address pane. Still, both GUIs use SkipROM to communicate by default, which will not be impacted by an address change. The newer TMP1827 GUI can enable MatchROM (also known as SkipAddr 0xCC and MatchAddr 0x55, respectively) on the address pane, but it cannot use FlexAddr 0x0F that is needed for resistor addressing. At any rate, you should not experience disconnects when writing to the FLEX_ADDR_MODE bits or the SHORT_ADDR register.
