DRV5057: A3QDBZR

Part Number: DRV5057

Tool/software:

Hi, We are looking for linear hall sensors with digital outputs. The DRV5057 family seems to be a good candidate for us. But it seems all of the SOT variants are no more in production and only custom reels are available. Are there any in production variants that i have missed? Is there a new variant in development? Does it mean the technology is not sought for in the industry, when yes why?

Seems i cant reply to your answer, so i am editing here:

Then maybe my interpretation is wrong. Naturally i am being redirected to the german site of the TI and things might be different.

As an example of the DRV5057Z4QDBZR, although the top of the page indicates the status to be active but on the bottom left the state is labeled obsolete. Just holding my mouse on the "obsolete" phrase, a small window pops up, saying: "this product is no longer in production, for new designs an alternative product should be used".

As we are working on a new technology in our company, we need to make sure any products we consider, would be available in the future for our products.

  • Hi there, some SOT-packaged variants are still available and in production under the part number(s) DRV5057ZxQDBZR. These are the zero temperature compensation (Zx) variants. If your application requires temperature compensation (Ax variant), you can order the automotive version of the IC under the part number(s) DRV5057AxEDBZRQ1.

You can order reels on ti.com, which come in multiples of 3k parts. You do not need to order a custom reel.

I can't comment on whether or not a new part is in development, but I can say that PWM output is oftentimes used in applications that need high noise immunity. If you have any other questions, please let me know.

  • I can confirm that I see the same information you have posted on the US TI website. The one you posted is indeed obsolete, but what that really means is that the part can't be ordered in that specific packaging anymore. DRV5057Z4QDBZT refers to a unique IC variant (DRV5057Z4) and packaging (small tape and reel) combo. If you order the DRV5057Z4QDBZR, the same IC variant is available in a larger reel size.

The DRV5057 is still supported and in production, and will be until at least 2028 if you extrapolate the ten-year production guideline found on our product lifecycle page. The end of life date is likely later considering there is still demand for this part.

If the device's status was "not recommended for new designs" or "last time buy", then I'd caution against using it for new designs because the part is more likely to be obsolete in the near future.

For future reference, if you check the datasheet, you can see all the orderable part numbers available.

    I hope this helps!
