AWR2944EVM: How to process SBL reset self fail

Part Number: AWR2944EVM

Tool/software:

Hi designer,

I encouter a problem that there is a miss of step in process of SBL, shown as below:

Here in the last, there should be a prompt "All done, reset self", but it's not.

Then, I use an another board, it works.

Could you give me some idea of debuging? I don't know what results in this problem.

Regards,

Zisheng Wang

  • Hello Zisheng,

Can you ensure that the two boards have some on-board configurations? Like SOP and other switches. Let me know if the issue does not go away.

    Regards,
    Shailesh

  • Hello Shailesh

I'm sure that two boards have identical configurations, further more I have found the reason why the board encounters the problem.

There is a function which will infinitely loop  if BSS boot fail and the reason why BSS

The value of bssstatus is 0xD.

So it is a hardware problem, isn't it?

    How to fix it?

Could you help me to provide solution of my two problems?

    Regards,

    Zisheng Wang

  • Hello Zisheng,

It looks like the APLL calibrations have failed in this device for some reason.

Question: Since when did this error start showing up in this device? And is the error always there or does it pass sometimes and fails some other times.

    Regards,
    Shailesh

  • Hello Shaliesh

I guess this problem is always there.

After flashing program into it, it is the first time that I make a test on it, and encounter this problem.

    Regards,

    Zisheng

  • Hello Zisheng,

Will you be able to try to boot the device in a different mode? You can try the SOP2 boot using mmwave studio and check if the device operates normally. SOP5 mode can also be tried with instructions available in SDK documentation. Let me know if you need help with these tests.

    Regards,
    Shailesh
