Tool/software:

I am currently working on the AWR2E44PEVM device and would like to run the Logic Built-In Self-Test (LBIST) or as named as STC in delivred package

(mmwave_sdl_awr2x44p_02_02_02_00) as part of our safety checks.

Could you please clarify whether the STC can be executed:

From the SBL stage (e.g., prior to application startup)?
Or only from within the main application context?

If LBIST (STC) execution from the SBL is possible, are there any specific constraints or recommendations we should follow (e.g., clocking, memory isolation, or reset handling)?

Hi,

In the example shared in the SDL package the example runs in the application context after the SBL has executed.

When you make your custom SBL, LBIST can be integrated into the SBL and it is recommended as well. You can refer the safety demo for AWR2944 device (currently in works for the P device) which provides an SBL implementation on the same lines.

hello
i believe that all SAfety checks should be runs from Asil Context but i think SBL is almost Runs QM context taht means that the result of LBIST test may be corrupted ..
so is there any blocking points or constrains if we run the STC test during strart up after the sbl excute and befroe starting the application or the OS ?

Hi,

The SBL is designed by the user. We believe that the SBL will be designed as per ASIL B standard, so here i do not understand your query when you say SBL runs in QM context? Can you please elaborate here?

in our case the SBL is designed to be QM so we will not run hw Self checks from SBL at all
so my quetions is can we run the STC (lbist) at startup after SBL exccute is there any constrains that makes STC cannot excute at start up after SBL !?

Hi,

No there are no restrictions as such for LBIST. Please note after LBIST is executed the core undergoes a reset and will restart the code execution from beginning of the execution. Please take care of this in the software design. You can refer to the Safety Demo for the logic we have used.

okay sound good that stc test is excuted for succfully for MSS core and reset trgigred and test passed

but the reset not triggred for DSS core i think ESM should be configured for DSS core also is this correct assumtion from my understanding ?
also the supported pkg from your side with version (mmwave_sdl_awr2x44p_02_02_02_00) is support DSS configration in the esm module ??

Hi,

For LBIST, only interrupts configuration is required and not required for ESM. Even for DSS we the example in the SDL which covers this core as well.

So i have another point

if The Lbist test excuted and returned with failed status for testing (stc_falied) my understanding this means that there are hardware failure my question is

Did the hardware will trigger contious reset done by hardware in case of lbist or stc Test failure ?

Hi,

No, continuous reset is not triggered. The failure is reported and then it is up to the user to decide the next course of action.

if its asil qualified can you provided safety manual

integration manual static analysis report and test coverage !?
