LDC1101: Wire-wound inductors guideline

Part Number: LDC1101

Tool/software:

Dear expert:

I am going to use LDC1101 to detect rotate speed of turbocharger blades. I will use wire-wound inductor installed near to the high temperature blade.

So when I check my wire-wound inductor design via TI guideline: LDC_Tools-ext51, I can't find the guideline for this kind of inductor. So how to deal with the wire-wound inductor matching with LDC1101? Could you please share more information about the wire-wound inductor design guidline? thanks!

  • Xia,

The spreadsheet tool for LDC coil designs does not support wire-wound coils.
Also, we don't have any app notes or other collateral that give guidance on this type of coil design, since almost all requests are for PCB coils.

Wire-wound coils have been used for a long, long time, so there should be lots of available literature about their design.
A general literature search should help with this.

    regards,
    John
