I am looking to find a replacement for my current setup of AWR2243BOOST+AM273X setup as it was crashed.

Please suggest me suitable mmwave radar and development board.

    HI,

    If you are looking at performance similar to AWR2243BOOST+AM273X than you will need to use the AWR2944P EVM

    But isnt this corner radar solution?

    I need to soltuion for front facing radar!

    if the awr2944pevm is suitable for front detcetion, do I need to get the 60PIN HD connector to get the data from demo or the J10 UART interface will work?

    Also I have sw setup using ros2 sdk for pointcloud collection, which i did for awr2243+am273x. Can I use it for AWR2944PEVM?

    Hi,

    Unfortunately our team does not support ROS. However if you were able to use it with awr2243+am273x than you can probably use it with AWR2944P EVM.

    The AWR2944P can be used for corner or front radar if performance is sufficient.

    Unfortunately we are not familiar with drone use cases. With AWR2944P you should be able to detect a moving car up to 230-250m range. 

    What data are you trying to collect? Raw data or detected object data?

    I want to get pointcloud (detected object data). 
    I want to detect flying drones. I have seen some demo on TI forum about awr6843 for drone detection applications.

    do you think awr2944pevm is suitable device?

    Hello,

    Yes the awr2944pevm would be suitable for your application. The awr6843 does not have drone specific demos and the 2944p has inherently better performance.
